We're thrilled to share the highlights of our recent environmental fair organized by Entreamigos! It was a day filled with education, fun, and community engagement; our tables were all aimed at protecting our precious sea turtles. Attendees were treated to an informative talk shedding light on the impacts of fishing nets and garbage on sea turtles. But learning wasn't just limited to lectures; kids had a blast playing two interactive games designed to teach them about these crucial issues.
In addition to raising awareness, we also had the opportunity to showcase our new shirts and tanks, and our stickers were a hit with the kids looking to show their support for our cause. None of this would have been possible without the dedicated efforts of Elvia, Ulises, Odette, and Lily. A heartfelt shoutout to them for making our involvement in the fair a reality!
As we gear up for the upcoming nesting season, we're reaching out to our community for support. The nursery and ATV require repairs, and we need essential supplies like red flashlights. Your donations will ensure that we're fully equipped to protect nesting sea turtles and their hatchlings.
And speaking of giving, why not consider a unique Mother’s Day gift this year? For just $75 USD, you can adopt a sea turtle nest in honor of Mom. She'll receive a certificate by email, and a nest badge commemorating her contribution will be placed with her nest throughout its incubation period. When her nest hatches, we’ll email her pictures and hatching information, making it a truly memorable and meaningful gift that keeps on giving. Follow this LINK to adopt our upcoming nests now or to learn more about the program.
Exciting news on the fundraising front: our US 501c3 status has been approved, meaning all donations from the US are now tax deductible. Our bank account is active, but we're awaiting final processing details before we can link our new PayPal account for donations. We anticipate resolving this by this next week's end and will update you accordingly. In the meantime, please continue donating through our partner charity, Travler HERE.
